Reality-Based Combat & Self-Defense at the JSA

Let’s be honest – there is a growing need for people to learn how to defend themselves and protect those we care about.  We believe learning “how to fight” is an essential skill everyone, especially in this Modern World, where violence is everywhere.

Our Self-Defense Combative classes focus on teaching you a Modern, Realistic and Scientific approach to combat.  Our philosophy is that “it has to work”.  How do we know it does?  Because we test it, train it and enhance it constantly.

With the growth of MMA and fighting sports (Jiu-Jitsu, Boxing, Muay Thai, etc.) more and more people have some sort of fight training.  Gone are the days where a few self-defense classes or a few months of karate were sufficient enough for self-defense.  Now, everyone has access to fight training on YouTube and can watch / learn by just turning on the UFC on Saturday night.  Everyone is a fight expert now!

What makes us different is our experience and dedication to training and evolving with the modern world.

All over our combat coaches have dedicates decades of martial arts training, combatives training, and sport fighting training.  Most coaches compete / competed in wrestling, Jiu-Jitsu, full-contact karate, boxing and Mixed Martial Arts.  Some have spent year working security for night clubs and bars, while others have military experience as well.

Not only is combat training a necessity for this modern world – but it’s just a lot of fun!!  There’s something just awesome about smashing the pads with big knees and elbows, throwing someone to the ground, learning submissions, sparring, and more!  The people are great too; everyone has the same goal – to learn something awesome, train hard, and have some fun.

TRITAC-Jitsu

Defend, Smash & Enter, Control, Takedown, Finish

The TRITAC-Jitsu System is a Modern Combat Jiu-Jitsu System developed by Matt Bryers and Sean Jugler; and Soul Fighters Academy.

TRITAC-Jitsu is a evolutionary program that focuses on the “flow of combat”. The system combines elements of the revolutionary TRITAC Systems and the highly effective art of Jiu-Jitsu.  Jiu-Jitsu is known as one of the most combat-effective martial arts styles.  Jiu-Jitsu primarily a grappling style that was originally used for reality-based self-defense.

The integration and blend of the TRITAC Systems, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Japanese Ju-Jitsu creates a unique and highly effective Jiu-Jitsu System that answers the question: “Does it Work?”

TRITAC-Unarmed

TRITAC-Unarmed is An Evolutionary Reality-Based Combatives program…

… concentrating on self-preservation in regard to the unexpected, physical confrontations that can take place at any time and any place. TRITAC-Unarmed is designed for “anything goes” street violence where multiple opponents or opponents with weapons are present.

Influenced by Muay Thai, Western Boxing, Kick Boxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Silat, and Filipino Martial Arts (to name a few), the TRITAC-Unarmed System was designed to be as instinctive yet efficient as possible; natural, flowing body movements and mechanics that can be made without much thought or planning, while still capitalizing on strength, speed, and accuracy.

Some excellent training last night!!
Hey guys Justin here with a little Wednesday Wisdom. .

Let's take a look at the starting position for the T-bar row. I have seen several people lately setting up incorrectly on this lately. . 👉In the top photo you can see my feet are wide and pretty close to the handle, and my torso is approximately at a 45* angle to the ground. This position puts right over the weight and allows the row to hit your lats as intended. . 👹In the bottom photo you can see that my feet are narrow and very far away from the handle and my torso is almost vertical. Not only is this a bad position to hit the muscles the exercise is intended for, but it also puts more strain on your lower back. The weight is too far out in front of you. .

Hope this helps you guys out. If you guys like this I will try and do a different movement every week. Let me know what you guys want to see.
Everybody learning and working hard last night!!
