Jiu-Jitsu Classes for Beginners
Start learning Jiu-Jitsu today with our Fundamentals of Jiu-Jitsu Program
Jiu-Jitsu is one the greatest martial arts… ever. It has it’s roots in Japan and then made famous by the Gracies. It’s now commonly called “Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu” or as we call it: Jits.
It’s one of the best martial arts fighting styles you can learn. It’s real, it’s a challenge, and it’s fun! … Not to mention extremely addicting!
Our Fundamentals of Jiu-Jitsu program starts you learning the right way. We don’t just throw you in the middle of a class and expect you to learn or even understand what you’re learning for the first few weeks. But, we want to get you as good as we can quick. Why? Because we’re a team (Soul Fighers BJJ)! We help each other train, learn and improve our skills. You will become a valuable part of that team.
The Fundamentals of Jiu-Jitsu program allows you to work in a very small group setting (typically 3-4 other beginners) and learn the basic, but most important positions and techniques of Jiu-Jitsu.
In the beginning, we focus on teaching you WHY and HOW. It’s important to understand “how to train” and what you should be doing in each position.
The basics aka the Fundamentals are the techniques you will use everyday on the mat. It’s your foundation. Everything builds from there.

The fundamentals classes are great! I worked with Coach Steve and a few other beginners for a few weeks. After that I was on the mat training with everyone and holding my on!
In today’s world where your ability to use some of your most basic, most primitive, yet most essential skills is often constrained, at least you’ve got Jits. For me, I find I’m most alive when I’m jumping out of an airplane or when someone is trying to choke me or break my arm and I have to defend it. And, it’s great exercise.
